Large Majolica Boat

This huge Majolica Boat came in quite badly damaged, the Cherub was broken in two with a further break still attached with wires inside and filled with plaster, which was part of the old repair.

There was a similar break on the beasts head and he was missing his bottom Jaw, the cherub was also missing his right hand, and had numerous chips and losses in the hair in particular.

All the old repairs were removed and the piece carefully dismantled. It was then glued together using Fynebond after first stabilizing with B72, the missing chip and sections were filled and a new hand a Jaw were made.

The piece was then painted to match including the crazing which was all over the cherub.
